Carbidopa/Levodopa (CoCareldopa) 25 / 100mg - More Information
Co-Careldopa - Levodopa/Carbidopa (Generic Sinemet)
Co-Careldopa - Levodopa/Carbidopa (Generic Sinemet) is a combination of psychoactive drug (Levodopa), metabolic precursor of Dopamine (Levodopa) and a peripheral DOPA decarboxylase inhibitor (Carbidopa) used to treat Parkinson Disease.
How does Co-Careldopa - Levodopa/Carbidopa (Generic Sinemet) work?
Levodopa, a psychoactive drug and precursor of Dopamine, crosses the protective blood-brain barrier easily and is converted to Dopamine once crossed the blood brain barrier, to increase dopamine concentrations in the treatment of Parkinson's disease and dopamine-responsive dystonia.
Levodopa works best when combined with a peripheral DOPA decarboxylase inhibitor such as Carbidopa to reduce the side effects caused by dopamine on the periphery, as well as increasing the concentration of Levodopa (L-DOPA) and dopamine in the brain. The administration of combination of CoCareldopa - Carbidopa and Levodopa (Generic Sinemet) makes Levodopa (L-Dopa) more available for transport to the brain.
What is the Benefit of CoCareldopa - Carbidopa and Levodopa (Generic Sinemet)?
CoCareldopa - Carbidopa and Levodopa (Generic Sinemet) is used to treat Parkinson symptoms such as muscle stiffness, tremors, spasms, and poor muscle control; used to treat parkinson symptoms caused by carbon monoxide poisoning or manganese intoxication; and is used to treat Dopamine Responsive Dystonia (DRD).
What is Dopamine and What does Dopamine Do?
Dopamine is an essential central nervous center chemical as dopamine functions as a neurotransmitter, a chemical released by nerve cells to send signals to other nerve cells; control the brain's reward and pleasure centers; helps regulate movement; helps emotional responses and deficiency of dopamine results in Parkinsons Disease.
